One Corner hitmaker, Patapaa Amisty, says he felt cheated by his former manager, Godfred Bokpin, after his One Corner song went viral.

Speaking on the Daybreak Hitz show on Hitz FM, Patapaa said reports of funds generated from his social media accounts didn’t add up.

According to him, when the song was released, Godfred, gave his account details to someone to handle and when he (Patapaa) approached the person, he was told he had only GHC 2,000 Ghana Cedis in the account.

About 8 to 10 months after, Patapaa said he was informed that the monies generated had decreased to GHC 500 Ghana Cedis.

“No good explanation was given to me and since I don’t like to disclose such stuff, I was mute about them; that’s why he decided not to work with me anymore,” he explained.

Meanwhile, the former manager of the Pa2pa man had also blamed the break in the relationship on Patapaa’s penchant for cancelling booked interviews and shows, just minutes before scheduled time, with no tangible reason, saying the behaviour made working with him extremely difficult.

“He mostly cancels booked interviews and shows as they’re fast approaching with no tangible reason to support his excuse. This has become consistent and I can’t bear with his recalcitrant attitude anymore. I’ve to let him go”, Godfred said in an interview with Happy FM’s Duncan.

But Patapaa’s latest revelation is in sharp contrast with his former manager’s claims, making the issues even murkier than they seemed.

Patapeezy is currently promoting his new song, There is Nothing featuring Sista Afia.

“We are doing this project as a risk management tool because we are losing a lot of revenue at the port,” he stated on Adom FM’s Fabewoso Monday.

The deputy Trades Minister stated that because Ghana was an imports revenue-dependent country, the system was needed to stop thievery at the ports.

Carlos Ahenkorah assured importers and their clearing agents that the new advanced cargo information system will not come with additional costs.

“I’m going to push for the charges on the CTN to be dropped so that importers will be free,” he added.

CTN, also known as Loading Certificate, is an official marine document that contains information relating to the cargo and its movement between ports.

The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), under the auspices of the Ministry of Finance, has appointed CTN Ghana Ltd as the sole representative for the implementation of CTN System to and from Ghana with the rest of the world.

Under the system, exporters would be required to provide detailed and timely information about their shipment in advance on a global online platform.

By adopting the CTN system, Ghana Customs would be seeking to modernise its operations to facilitate the movement of the legitimate trade in line with international best practices.

Video: ‘Kasiebo’ diss song prevented me from winning awards- Guru

ghana waves news

Rapper Guru has for the first time revealed that the ‘diss’ song titled ‘Kasiebo’ which he composed together with Obrafour has had a negative toll on his career in Ghana.

The rapper opened up in an interview on Behind the Fame on Drive Time on Joy FM with Lexis Bill on how the act had affected his ability to win awards due to the influence of the targeted personalities in the song.

“The problem came from the very day with the song with Obrafour…that was a major problem,” he revealed.

“Most of these people [who we offended] they play a major role. At that time they were that big… Okyame Kwame and Obour,” he continued.

‘Kasiebo’ was released about nine years ago and caused an uproar among music lovers.

The song has been labelled as a direct attack on the personalities of Okyeame Kwame (O.K) and Obour.

In Guru’s lyrics, he alleged that a musician by name O.K had defiled a teenager in Kumasi and also downplayed Okyeame Kwame’s claim that he is the best rapper alive.

Guru also called out Obour and mocked his efforts at reviving Hiplife, a genre the latter felt was dying.

The artiste mentioned that Obour was extremely excited that he lost out to Shatta Wale on the ‘Song of the Year’ award at 2014 VGMAs.

“The way Obour [was] happy for Wale eh. I saw him. That day I missed out…” He said.

Guru denied assertions that his words in the song were influenced by Obrafour and mentioned that he wrote his lyrics.

He stated that even though he has partnered with Okyeame Kwame and Obour to perform at three of their events and also apologised, he still feels they have not forgiven him.
